Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of Fitness Instructor on The Isle of Wight.  This is a full time job with a salary of £21000 Pro Rata. Fixed Term until December 31 2022

Job Description

Solutions4Health is an innovative company with a passion and a track record for tackling health inequalities. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Weight Management instructor to join our Healthy Lifestyles team and promote and deliver our Shape up 4 Life nutrition and fitness program.  Sessions run in a variety of locations across Isle of Wight both during the day and the evening. If you feel you have you the drive, passion and expertise to deliver and support Public Health services in our Award Winning, Dynamic Organisation, we would be delighted to hear from you.

• Using your relevant training and experience to deliver the Shape up 4 life weight management sessions and empower clients to make positive and sustainable behaviour changes.
• Motivate, support and reassure clients, whilst being considerate of and understanding barriers to change.
• Effectively managing weekly groups by providing support to participants to improve their behaviour and take responsibility for losing weight through the use of motivational interviewing, negotiating and empathic skills.
• Completing appropriate paperwork and data entry.
• Maintain accurate records and information systems in line with Solutions 4 Health policies.
• Participating in any necessary training programmes and take responsibility for own development, learning and performance.
• Take part in promotional events to raise awareness of the service and encourage new participants
• To represent Solutions4Health in a professional manner, acting as an advocate for the organisation at all times
• To be flexible with regard to working hours including scheduled weekend and evening work.

Personal Specification 

Excellent group leadership and communication skills

Experience retaining clients within a programme or service

Applying principles of motivational interviewing

Good knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating principles

Experience of managing own workload

Demonstrate flexibility in service delivery and be willing to deliver services virtually when required.

Have a flexible approach to working hours in order to meet the needs of the service.

Awareness of data protection and safeguarding protocols

IT Literate and comfortable using Microsoft applications

Strong time management skills

Knowledge of behaviour change

Knowledge of Public Health services

Strong time management skills

Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment and able to multi-task.

Ability to travel across the Island with the equipment required to deliver the SU4L

Required Skills/Qualifications

Professional Qualification in Physical Activity
